Last week, The Athletic took a crack at figuring out some Chris Paul-to-New York Knicks trades. Now, Thunder beat writer Erik Horne and Sixers beat writer Rich Hofmann dive into what deals would work for the Thunder and Sixers to get Paul to Philadelphia, plus one more trade in case Paul-to-Philly isn’t going to work.
Horne: Rich, let’s start here: The Sixers and Thunder are both in critical offseasons, but in different places of their team building. The Sixers are a year removed from being one Kawhi Leonard shot away from the Eastern Conference finals. The Thunder are in the early stages of a rebuild (general manager Sam Presti would say they haven’t even gotten to the “rebuild” yet. They’re “repositioning”).
