Former Georgia Tech standout Luke Schniederjans shoots 11-under 59 in mini-tour event

Luke Schniederjans had himself a round to remember on Wednesday.

During the second round of the Mimosa Challenge, a GPro Tour event at Mimosa Hills Golf Club, Schniederjans went low, dissecting the Donald Ross-designed course in Morganton, North Carolina to the tune of 11-under 59. The 2020 Georgia Tech graduate made birdie on every hole on the front nine except for the par-4 fourth, making the turn at 8-under 27.

The three-time All-ACC player then cooled off with pars on Nos. 10-14 before another birdie streak on holes 15-17. A par on No. 18 sealed the deal for the sub-60 round. Four pars. Eleven birdies. One incredible round.

The best part? Schniederjans thought he only shot 60.

The Powder Springs, Georgia, native enters Thursday’s final round T-3 at 10 under with Kane Whitehurst, one shot back of second-place Gregory Eason (-11) and two shots behind leader Jared Bettcher (-12).

The GPro Tour was established in February 2013 “as a regional platform for aspiring professional golfers.”
