UNIVERSITY PARK, ILL. — Ed Trauth has been named senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Avatar Corp.
The company manufactures and sells a wide range of food ingredients, release agents and lubricants for application in baking, meat processing, flavors, processed cheese and confectionery. Mr. Trauth joined Avatar in 2018 as director of new business development, where he helped mobilize new product initiatives by restructuring the company’s research and development lab and formalizing a team to launch a new website.
Mr. Trauth has over two decades of experience in oleochemicals and surfactants at companies including Darling & Co., Unichema, Calgene Chemical, Monsanto and Lambent Technologies. In his new role, he will oversee efforts to grow sales both organically as well as through alliances and acquisitions.
