Five NFL stars who could be traded next

The 2020 NFL offseason has been an eventful one. It’s far from over at this point, too.

So far this month, we’ve seen a couple of big-time trades go down, including:

  • The Texans trading star WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals
  • The Lions trading Pro Bowl CB Darius Slay to the Eagles
  • The Jaguars trading Super Bowl-winning QB Nick Foles to the Bears
  • The Vikings trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Bills

What trades could come next? Several star NFL players have been rumored to be on the trading block. Here are five other notable players who could be on the move.

Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue

Ngakoue, 24, made the Pro Bowl in 2017 and has been in Jacksonville since 2016. The standout pass rusher appears to be staying put for now, but don’t be surprised if the Jaguars end up making a move here.

It seems like Ngakoue wants out, too.

Patriots OG Joe Thuney

New England placed the franchise tag on Thuney earlier this offseason. However, it’s possible the Patriots could look to deal the 2019 second-team All-Pro.

Several NFL teams would likely have interest in landing the standout offensive lineman.

Minnesota has been mentioned as a potential landing spot.

Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham Jr. is most likely staying put in Cleveland, but the Browns have a new head coach and a new general manager.

The 2019 season did not go well for the Browns – Beckham, included – and we’ve already seen multiple star WRs traded. Perhaps Beckham will be next.

Redskins LT Trent Williams

Williams, 31, has made it very clear that he wants out of Washington. His agent publicly shot down a recent contract demand rumor and put the ball in the Redskins’ court.

The former No. 4 overall NFL Draft pick’s relationship with Washington doesn’t appear to be salvageable.

The question here is probably not if Williams is traded, but when.

Texans QB Deshaun Watson

Now, this one almost surely isn’t happening, but if a star NFL quarterback was to be traded this offseason, it would probably be Watson.

A trade involving Watson likely wouldn’t happen unless he flat-out demanded one and refused to play in Houston, though.

That’s not stopping people from speculating about potential deals, of course.
