Speaking on Tuesday, Bonucci said: “England have really stood out to me for the approach that they showed, the way that they were willing to work hard for one another and the fact that they sought the three points.
“That’s the team that’s impressed me most thus far.”
What happened in England’s game?
England started the game in fine form against Croatia, pressing them high up the pitch and creating a number of chances in the first half.
As the game wore on, Croatia came into it more. But England were still the better side and finally got the breakthrough in the 57th minute.
Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips dribbled past Duje Caleta-Car on the edge of the Croatia box before sliding a perfect pass in to Raheem Sterling, who then fired home.
England held out to take the three points.
