Emma Raducanu set to make Indian Wells decision after splitting from coach

As the first big event after the US Open, many are expecting Raducanu to make a last-minute appearance after becoming something of a high-profile celebrity.

Although the Brit is now up in the world’s top 25, the entry list was made six weeks before the tournament begins, meaning she was ranked too low at the time to gain direct entry.

However, it would be hard to imagine the new Grand Slam champion would be denied a wild card into the tournament if she wishes to play, though she has since admitted that she is still deciding when to make her first appearance after her historic title win.

“I will decide in the next few days where I’m going to go next,” the 18-year-old said during the LTA’s official homecoming event, held to celebrate the British success at the US Open between Raducanu, Joe Salisbury, Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett.
