Emma Raducanu rubs shoulders with Kim Kardashian at Met Gala after historic US Open win

Raducanu dazzled in a black-and-white Chanel co-ord, posing with some of the A-Listers also invited to ‘fashion’s biggest night out’.

It’s a far cry from the life the teenager was living just three months ago, when she had been awarded a wild card into her first-ever tour level event at the WTA 250 in Nottingham and lost in the first round to compatriot Harriet Dart.

Ranked at world No 338, she then received a wild card into Wimbledon and made a name for herself by storming to the second week, before retiring her fourth-round match with breathing difficulties.

If her exploits at the All England Club were described as a fairy-tale run, what she managed to achieve at the US Open is so unprecedented most Hollywood filmmakers would find the story too far-fetched.
