EFL confirm all matches at 3pm on April 17 have been moved for Prince Philip’s funeral

Why have the games be moved?

In a statement released on Saturday, the EFL said: “As a mark of respect, EFL matches scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 17 April will be moved to avoid a clash with the funeral of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“The EFL will now work with its Clubs to determine at what time the matches will be played, giving consideration to the timing of the service.

“An announcement will follow in due course.”

Which games have been moved?

The change of kick-off times means all but one EFL game will be moved next Saturday.

Only Norwich City vs Bournemouth will continue with its original kick-off time of 8pm.

What about Premier League and FA Cup fixtures?

The Athletic have contacted the Premier League and FA but they are yet to provide an update on whether their fixtures will be moved.

What tributes were made this weekend?

Players across the Premier League and EFL wore black armbands and held a minute’s silence prior to kick-off as a mark of respect.

Some clubs, including Liverpool, Wembley Stadium and St Georges Park flew their flags at half-mast in respect of the late Prince Philip.
