Dustin Johnson is the top-ranked player and betting favorite for this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic. But before the tournament even started, he was tasked with a different job — he had important news to deliver.
In a video tweeted by the PGA Tour, Johnson surprised one happy couple with the gender reveal of their baby. The 20-time Tour winner walked over to sign autographs when he was asked to be in a photo with a man and his wife. He agreed, then responded with something that caught them off guard.
“So I hear ya’ll are having a baby?” Johnson asked.
“Oh wow. Yes we are. You heard about this?”
“Do you want to know if it’s a boy or a girl?”
“Yeah.”
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
“Well,” Johnson said, reaching into his pocket before pulling out a pink golf ball. “It’s a girl.”
He then told the ecstatic couple congratulations and posed for a photo. They asked how he knew and he said, “I’ve got people that find stuff out.”
