Chance It, inside, defeats As Seen on TV in the Mucho Macho Man
Shooting Star Thoroughbreds LLC’s Chance It was scratched Saturday from the $400,000 Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth (G2).
The colt was the 7-2 morning-line second choice off victories in the Mucho Macho Man and In Reality Division of the Florida Sire Stakes. The 3-year-old son of Currency Swap had drawn the No. 12 post.
“We thought about it long and hard,” said trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. “It’s a tough post to overcome. I’ve never had a horse like this. I want to respect him and do what’s right. I want to give him a fair chance.”
Joseph said the colt would be pointed toward the March 7 Tampa Bay Derby (G2).
