Down Deebo Samuel, Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers offense must evolve as Seattle awaits


The 49ers offense refined its balanced stride in Sunday’s 33-6 win over New England, but it will now head to Seattle without two of that game’s most productive performers.

Receiver Deebo Samuel strained his hamstring and will certainly miss Sunday’s showdown against the Seahawks and probably the 49ers’ subsequent Thursday night clash with Green Bay. Running back Jeff Wilson suffered a high ankle sprain and is likely to go on injured reserve.

Samuel and Wilson combined for 259 all-purpose yards over the past two weeks, during which the 49ers offense roared back to life against the Rams and Patriots. Wilson rumbled for 112 yards and three touchdowns against New England, while bruising sweeps and short throws to Samuel have been heavily featured in the offense lately.
