Domingo Germán apologizes to Yankees in first public remarks since suspension

Domingo Germán has served his 81-game suspension under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy. He’s spoken with his teammates, both as a group and in some cases, one-on-one. Germán has addressed the media — and therefore fans — for the first time following his suspension.

And now, he says, it’s time to move on, focus on baseball and prove to his family, to the Yankees and to his teammates that he will follow through on the promises he has made to learn from his actions and, crucially, not repeat them.

On Wednesday, Germán spoke publicly about his domestic violence suspension for the first time. It has been 17 months since the incident with his girlfriend, with whom he says he is still in a relationship.
