A man filmed the dramatic moment he saved his dog from a shark attack after she jumped into the sea to be near him.

Australian YouTube star Brodie Moss said he thought he had lost his puppy Stryda when she attempted to join in with his dive in the shark-infested waters.

Explaining the incident on his YBS Youngbloods channel, he said: ‘The sharks began to rise off the bottom of the ocean, their fins were down, and they were thrashing around.

‘Bronzies (bronze whaler), bull sharks, lemon sharks, and they all just started stirring up at the bottom.’

He didn’t realise his pet had followed him into the water at first and assumed the animal just out of his line of vision was a fish.

When he looked up, Brodie saw Stryda swimming towards him through the water.

Footage shows sharks circling as he moves to rescue the puppy all while keeping his harpoon trained below.

He said: ‘The sharks are going at Stryda, so I grabbed her and she’s clawing at my back, holding onto the back of me as I was swimming for the boat.

‘The boys behind me were literally fending off sharks.’

Little Stryda has not jumped in like that since, he said, adding it was one of the scariest moments he has had in the water.
