DeMarcus Cousins accused of threatening to kill mother of his son

DeMarcus Cousins celebrated a joyous occasion over the weekend when he married his longtime girlfriend Morgan Lang in Atlanta, but some drama with his ex before the wedding could lead to legal trouble for the Los Angeles Lakers big man.

Cousins has been accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, Christy West, over a dispute about whether or not the former couple’s seven-year-old son would be allowed to attend Cousins’ wedding. West provided police with an audio recording that she claims features Cousins threatening to “put a bullet through your f—ing head” when West said she was not going to let the boy go to Atlanta. TMZ obtained a copy of the audio, which only features the relevant 20 seconds or so of the conversation.

West has filed court documents in Alabama seeking a restraining order against Cousins. She also says he made further threats to kill her “even if he didn’t have to get his hands dirty doing it” and once choked her during a previous dispute. The Mobile Police Department has opened an investigation into the allegations.

In addition to a restraining order, West wants Cousins to be ordered to stay away from the former couple’s son, though she said she is open to allowing supervised visitation.
