Darlene Love, Josh Groban Headline Virtual Holiday Performances

Has your favorite holiday performance been cancelled this year? Not to worry. Acclaimed artists and theater groups are offering a wide variety of virtual shows and concerts so that people can enjoy a little holiday magic from the comfort of their own homes. From iconic singers, such as Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Darlene Love and multi-platinum artist Josh Groban, to talented thespians throughout the country, there will be no shortage of virtual holiday performances this December.

Love said, “I just finished my first pay-per-view show. I’m trying to get to my fans during the current health situation. I’ve been doing my Christmas show for over 20 years and they are used to seeing me, so my publicist had this idea and within a month, we put together all of this. It really came out great and I’m hoping people will enjoy it. We taped it at Sony Hall in New York City. We had my 12 piece band and it was great. It is very joyful. I would have missed doing my Christmas show. We usually do it at the Sony twice in December.”

Dubbed the Christmas Queen 28 years ago by David Letterman during one of her annual appearances on his Late Night show, Love added, “It was a little hard without a crowd. But we play around on stage with one another. I try to intermingle with everyone. The chemistry part we had down. Plus, we only taped three songs at a time so everyone could keep their energy up. Our director, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, was great and was always telling us to get up, get up, get up.”

Love also shines in an airport musical number with Kurt Russell and a full gospel choir in the Netflix move, “The Christmas Chronicles 2.” In addition her digital Christmas Special will now be avail on demand through most of December.

This holiday season music and theater fans won’t have to be concerned about traveling to the venue or getting a good seat, as these virtual performances guarantee you a front row seat. Just make sure that you have your favorite snacks and beverages on hand and loved ones nearby in order to sit back and enjoy the shows.
