College golf facilities: Oklahoma Sooners

Named after Charlie Coe, who played at Oklahoma from 1946-48 and was one of the best amateur golfers of his era, the 7,000-square foot Charlie Coe Golf Learning Center opened in 1997, but don’t let that date fool you. You wouldn’t think the facility is 23 years old.

Indoor Features: Three hitting bays with a video system that provides consistently clear images and immediate feedback, locker rooms and offices for both the men’s and women’s golf teams and numerous items documenting Oklahoma’s collegiate golf history.

Outdoor Features: Expansive practice area designed exclusively for the Sooners is 225 yards wide and 90 yards deep, two satellite chipping greens as well as a 12,000-square foot bent grass chipping area with seven bunkers. There is also a bent grass and Bermuda grass putting green.
