March 11, 2021, looked a lot like March 10, 2020, for the Clippers.
On the last day before the NBA suspended its season last year, the Clippers went to Golden State and beat a bad Warriors team 131-107 in a game the Clippers led by 34 after three quarters and didn’t need to use their starters in the fourth. But that Warriors team finished 15-50.
Thursday night, with the Warriors trying to stay above .500 and the Clippers trying to end a three-game losing streak, the Clippers won, 130-104. Starters weren’t necessary in the fourth quarter. The Clippers used a 45-point third quarter to lead by as many as 39 points.
That’s right — the Clippers had their highest-scoring quarter all season against a Golden State defense that has been just outside the top five in defensive efficiency.
