Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard and more: John Hollinger projects 2021 offseason option decisions


Free agency! It’s the most exciting two words in sports fandom, and it kicks off on Aug. 3 this year.

But we can’t start getting into the nitty-gritty of it, not quite yet. First, we need to know who the actual free agents are. It’s kind of an important detail. And while most of the names are obvious because their contacts expired, some others aren’t open-and-shut cases.

Across the NBA, 38 players either have player options, team options or partial guarantees above the minimum for next season, and their presence (or absence) could have a big impact on the market. All of them will need to be decided upon, by either player or team, before our free-agent frenzy begins.

Who are they? I’m glad you asked. Today we’ll go through all the names and project whether or not they will be a free agent this offseason.
