It’s an interesting question, even if it’s an odd time to ask it. It’s been seven-and-a-half weeks, after all, since we last saw two NHL teams consummate a player swap.
A certain monotony has settled into this most uncertain NHL offseason, as the hockey world awaits clarity on what exactly the 2020-21 league year will look like. What rules will govern NHL rosters in a pandemic abbreviated campaign? And how much revenue will the NHL be able to generate in spite of the limitations introduced by the pandemic.
We may not be able to answer those questions today, but we can be confident that at some point, the NHL marketplace will spring back into action.
