Cannabis-infused snack startup raises $4 million

LOS ANGELES — TSUMo Snacks, a maker of cannabis-infused snack offerings, has raised $4 million in a seed round led by Casa Verde Capital, a venture capital firm focused on the cannabis industry.

The company offers a range of products including cheese puffs, fiery hot cheese crunchers, zesty ranch tortilla rounds, hint of lime tortilla rounds and salsa verde tortilla rounds. Each item contains 10 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per bag.

The brand debuted last fall. Products are available at dispensaries throughout California.

“This funding provides TSUMo with the opportunity to make considerable headway in bringing a wide range of unique snacks to market,” said Caroline Yeh, co-founder and chief executive officer. “With this new capital, we will develop new flavor profiles and form factors, further elevating and expanding the way people consume cannabis.”

Yoni Meyer, a partner at Casa Verde, added, “This capital will be used to supercharge TSUMo’s product roadmap as the brand continues to fill a need for differentiated infused products in a space dominated by sweet-centric offerings.”
