Can Clippers top 73-win Warriors as most efficient 3-point-shooting team ever? And what does it really mean?

The Clippers had been in a bit of a shooting slump since making a season-high 21 out of 42 3s against the Timberwolves on April 18. At the end of that game, the Clippers were shooting 3s at a 42.1 percent clip this season, which would be the second-best mark in NBA history behind the 1996-97 Hornets, who made 42.8 percent from 3. Considering the 3-point line was at a shortened distance of 22 feet all around from 1994 to 1997, the Clippers were on pace to set the record for the best 3-point shooting season by a team from the current distance of 22 feet in the corners and 23 feet, 9 inches above the break. That current standard is held by the 2015-16 Warriors, who shot 41.6 percent from 3 on their way to a record-setting 73-9 regular season.
