I have been scoping out the extensive southern tip of Los Cabos and beyond the bustling town of Cabo San Lucas, as new developments were announced years ago. With the East Cape of Los Cabos already filling up with famed brands from Four Seasons to Aman, more luxury developments are now planned for 2022 and beyond.
On the Southernmost tip of Cabo San Lucas, the dramatic beachfront landscape situated along the Pacific Ocean was wide open and ready for luxury resorts, and major new hotel brands are currently in planning stages for development. Despite the pandemic, construction is booming with countless construction sites and cranes dotting the coastline as you enter Cabo San Lucas.
Among the new properties announced is The St. Regis Los Cabos, which recently launched sales for a new group of upcoming private residences, all located within Quivira, a luxury residential community with an award-winning Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. The 33-acre site will include 1,200 feet of oceanfront and is located on the southernmost side of Los Cabos, yet only four miles from the Los Cabos International Airport. Construction began on the 120 room hotel and 74 residences earlier this year, with a projected opening in fall 2022.
One of my favorite designers, SB Architects, created the new villas with a unique sense of indoor and outdoor living, featuring glass walls overlooking an outdoor kitchen and an infinity-edge pool as well as 60 feet of private beachfront. Hirsch Bedner Associates design the interiors of the condos and villas. Olarena Hospitality Group, in partnership with Ernesto Coppel, is leading the development of the first St. Regis brand in Cabo.
Owners will enjoy access to the main hotel’s concierge services, seven pools, three restaurants, and a spa, including ten massage rooms and a fitness and wellness center. The complete project will include 74 residences on the site, but this first batch comprises just five villas and seven condos, including the penthouse with a private rooftop and swimming pool.
The apartment units start at $2.8 million, and the villas at $9 million. The villas are five-bed homes starting at 6,800 square feet, with the condos available in three- and four-bedroom layouts beginning at 3,300 square feet.
Among the new Los Cabos resort developments slated in the next few years are a second Four Seasons Hotel at Cabo del Sol, a Soho Farmhouse Members Club and Hotel in the East Cape, the previously announced Aman Resort in the East Cape, a Park Hyatt Resort in Cabo del Sol, and a Six Senses Resort and Spa.
