Bulls reportedly have 'a lot of interest' in Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball is set to become a free agent after this season and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski expects the point guard to have his fair share of potential suitors.

According to Woj, the Bulls are the team expected to pursue Ball most aggressively, as Chicago has “a lot of interest” in him and explored trading for him before this season’s deadline. The Knicks have also been linked to Ball, as they could use some depth at point guard.

Ball will only be a restricted free agent, which means that the Pelicans will have the chance to match any offer made to him in order to keep him. But it’s not yet clear how much New Orleans is willing to spend in order to to keep Ball from leaving via free agency.

“I think Ball and Chicago will be an interesting one to watch, and it will be interesting to see what New Orleans does and how they want to structure their payroll, how far they’re willing to go on matching an offer sheet,” Woj said on “The Woj Pod.” “Do they want to match it at all? But I think Lonzo will get a pretty good number.”

Ball just wrapped up arguably the best season of his career, averaging career highs in points per game, field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
