Bulls guard Lonzo Ball could return this season after successful knee surgery



Following a successful arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday, there is confidence that Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball could return this season, sources told The Athletic on Thursday.

Ball is expected to miss at least a few months, but doctors believe the operation on his left knee addressed the issue that has kept him sidelined since Jan. 14 after chronic pain revealed a small tear in his meniscus.

The 24-year-old underwent an initial arthroscopic surgery in January, and at that time the Bulls said he could return in six to eight weeks. He ultimately ended up missing the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
