Brewers trade Orlando Arcia to make way for Luis Urías at shortstop: Was it the right move ?


Over the last couple of months, the Brewers discussed trade possibilities with other teams involving Orlando Arcia. In the foreground, they attempted to change Arcia’s role to utility infielder. For the first time since his debut nearly five years ago, Arcia wasn’t going to be the Brewers’ shortstop.

In case the Opening Day lineup and subsequent games didn’t make that clear enough, the Brewers on Tuesday traded Arcia to Atlanta, signaling their shortstop preference like airport workers waving batons on the tarmac. The Brewers received right-handers Patrick Weigel and Chad Sobotka from the Braves in return.
