Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager Pool 2 Opens Friday; Flightline Is Morning-Line Choice At 5-2

||

Undefeated 4-year-old Flightline has been installed as the 5-2 favorite for the second of two future wagers on this year’s $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Pool #2 of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager will open on Friday, Sept. 2 at 12 p.m. ET and will close on Monday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager is a $2 minimum bet and is a win wager only.

The Future Wager will enable fans to bet on 24 wagering interests for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic well in advance of the Nov. 5 race date. Odds on horses in the future pools typically provide more value to horseplayers than those available on race day. This year’s Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic will be run at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky as a part of the 39th Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager will consist of 23 unique wagering interests and one “All Others” wager for a total of 24 betting interests. “All Others” includes all Thoroughbreds other than the pool’s individual horses.

Betting on all Breeders’ Cup Future Wagers will be offered via Breeders’ Cup partner TVG.com, and other advanced deposit wagering (“ADW”) sites, racetracks, casinos, simulcast centers, and off-track betting sites.

Flightline is the odds-on favorite for this Saturday’s TVG Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar, a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In race that guarantees the winner an automatic starting position in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic. In his only start this year, Flightline won the Hill ‘N’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) at Belmont Park on June 11.

Flightline is followed in the wagering by 7-2 Epicenter, winner of last Saturday’s Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) for 3-year-olds at Saratoga. The 4-year-old Life Is Good, winner of both the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and the Whitney Stakes (G1,) is listed next at 4-1. Country Grammer, winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1), who is also entered in the TVG Pacific Classic, is the fourth choice at 12-1. Hot Rod Charlie, who was second in the Dubai World Cup, and Charge It, winner of the Dwyer Stakes (G3) at Belmont, are listed as the co-fifth choices at 20-1.

Flightline closed as the favorite at the close of Pool #1 of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager on Aug. 7, with a will pay of $6.98 on a $2 wager.
