NEW YORK — Charlean Gmunder has been named chief operating officer at Blue Apron Holdings, Inc.

She brings more than 30 years of food operations experience to the meal kit company. She most recently was vice president of catering operations at United Airlines, Inc., where was responsible for six company-owned direct food-related manufacturing sites and all third-party manufacturing sites worldwide. Before that she held operations roles at Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Chiquita Brands International, Promotion in Motion Companies Inc., Premio Foods, National Starch Food Innovation and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University.

In her new role, Ms. Gmunder will oversee Blue Apron’s fulfillment, supply chain, food safety and quality assurance, physical operations, logistics, procurement and customer experience.
