Blazers’ CJ McCollum expected to return to lineup Monday against Magic: Sources

Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum is expected to return to the team’s lineup on Monday against the Orlando Magic, sources told The Athletic. McCollum hasn’t played since suffering a collapsed lung Dec. 4 against the Boston Celtics.

In 24 games this season, he’s averaging 20.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

McCollum’s return comes at an ideal time for the short-handed Blazers. Star guard Damian Lillard underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair an abdominal injury and will be out indefinitely.

Portland is currently 16-25, good for 10th place in the Western Conference. Most recently, the team fell 140-108 to the Denver Nuggets.
