Hronis Racing’s Higher Power put in a five-furlong breeze in :59.60 on Saturday that has trainer John Sadler excited about next weekend’s Pegasus World Cup, reports drf.com. The 5-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro will ship to South Florida on Tuesday.
“I loved it,” Sadler told drf.com. “(Jockey Flavien) Prat was on him for his second consecutive work. It looked like a big work. It’s fun when you get close and everything seems to be going so well.”
The G1 Pacific Classic winner was most recently third in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Just a two-time allowance winner when entered in last April’s Keeneland Horses of Racing Age sale, Higher Power brought a final bid of $250,000. Since then, the horse has added one Grade 1 victory and a pair of Grade 1 placings to his resume, improving his overall record to 5-1-6 from 15 starts for earnings of $1,376,648.
