The majority of Barcelona’s veterans joined up with the youngsters as Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde put them through their paces ahead of La Liga getting back underway.

Suarez had actually returned last week, when he was put through a rigorous sandpit session in the Spanish sun before joining Messi for a party in Ibiza over the weekend.

There were reports that Messi was involved in an altercation with a drunk fan, and had to be escorted out of a nightclub, however the Argentine star played down any involvement.

The Barcelona duo then spent the next day on a private yacht with their wives Antonella Roccuzzo and Sofia Balbi, where they were also joined by former team-mate Cesc Fabregas and his wife Daniella Semaan.
