Astros, Michael Brantley agree to deal: Source

(Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the deal between the Toronto Blue Jays and Brantley was complete. We regret this error and have made the necessary changes.)

The Houston Astros have agreed to a deal with outfielder Michael Brantley pending a physical, a source confirmed to The Athletic on Wednesday, following multiple reports.

Brantley’s deal, according to the source, is the same as his last deal with the Astros — two years, $32 million.

The Toronto Blue Jays made a push to sign both Brantley and former Astros outfielder George Springer. The latter agreed to a deal with the Blue Jays on Tuesday, a source told The Athletic.

Brantley, 33, has a .309 average with 27 home runs and 112 RBIs in two seasons with the Astros.

This story will be updated. More to come.
