Ash Barty insists she is ready to end Australian Open hoodoo ahead of historic final

Now Barty has bulldozed her way through the draw without facing a player in the top 20 – Naomi Osaka lost before their potential fourth-round showdown – and she even benefitted from Brisbane-style humidity as she out-classed Keys 6-1 6-3.

“It’s tough, it sucks,” said the world No.51.

Florida’s Collins also felt at home as she needed only 78 minutes to beat former French Open champion Swiatek 6-4 6-1.

Collins said: “To play against world No.1 in her home country is going to be spectacular.”

Pole Swiatek warned Barty: “I was prepared for her playing an aggressive game, but I think that was the fastest ball I have ever played against in a match.”
