As Washington searches for a playmaking free safety, Bobby McCain states his case

ASHBURN, Va. — Chris Harris loves players who like nice things. What kind of nice things, specifically?

Washington’s defensive backs coach loves a player who not only breaks up a pass but helps himself to a turnover. He loves to see that. If that player did the studying, recognized the route and did everything else to put themselves in a position to get a pick or recover a fumble, why shouldn’t he treat himself?

That’s what free safety Bobby McCain did Thursday on the final day of minicamp. McCain intercepted not one but two passes, picking off Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke in the team’s last session before training camp opens in Richmond in late July.
