Three teams dropped out of the top 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 Monday after a slew of upsets in college basketball’s opening week.

Villanova, Virginia and Kentucky all lost to previously unranked opponents and fell to Nos. 12, 15 and 20 respectively.

Houston, which won three games to open the season, including one over then-No. 14 Texas Tech, jumped from No. 17 to No. 10. Michigan State and Creighton joined the Cougars as top-10 newcomers.

Gonzaga and Baylor held on to the top two spots, setting up a marquee showdown on Saturday.

Virginia Tech, which beat Villanova in overtime, entered the poll at No. 16. Richmond, which won at Kentucky, was ranked No. 19.

UCLA and Michigan dropped out of the Top 25.

This is a developing story. More to come.
