Antonio Sabato, Trump-supporting actor, shreds Hollywood: 'These liberals are out of their minds'

Conservative actor Antonio Sabato Jr. came out swinging against Hollywood liberals and boycott culture after a nonprofit organization that helps disabled children drew backlash for honoring him.

Best Buddies, an international nonprofit that helps people and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, sparked criticism after it was announced that Mr. Sabato, a supporter of President Trump, would be honored as a “Hero of Inclusion” at the organization’s annual Champion of the Year Gala in Palm Beach, Florida, in November.

Mr. Sabato addressed the criticism on “Fox & Friends” Friday, saying his political opinions have nothing to do with Best Buddies.

“These liberals are out of their minds,” Mr. Sabato said. “I have been nice, I’ve been loving my whole life. Just because I support a different idea, you’re going to put me down?

“That’s why I left California,” he added. “That’s why I’m writing my book. Next year I’m going to release it, and I’m going to talk about everything that’s ever happened to me — how you can be blacklisted in 2019 in Hollywood is crazy to me.”

Fox News host Steve Doocey read an email on air from a person who withdrew support for Best Buddies over its affiliation with Mr. Sabato, writing to the organization that “our children must be protected from the garbage that has been elected.”

Mr. Sabato fired back, “Let’s talk about garbage and all the garbage in California that these Democrats have done to that state. Let’s talk about all the garbage they spew to young kids at schools. Let’s talk about releasing God away from everybody nowadays. No love, no God, just blame the president. That’s wrong. It hurts everybody.

“Being involved with Best Buddies, being around people with disabilities, just brings the best out of people,” he said. “For them to say something like this, they should be ashamed of themselves because they’re ruining everything.
