Anthony Davis likely out through All-Star break with injury?

Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis sat out the second half of Sunday’s 122-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets due to aggravating the tendinosis in his right Achilles.

On Monday afternoon, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Davis is dealing with a calf strain and an aggravation of tendonosis. The Lakers will re-evaluate Davis in two-to-three weeks, meaning the 27-year-old likely won’t play again until the completion of the All-Star break on March 10.

Davis suffered this latest setback in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. He previously missed a pair of contests last week because of the tendinosis in his right Achilles.

Davis recorded 15 points, four rebounds, and an assist in 14 minutes of action before he was sidelined on Sunday. He is now on track to miss a minimum of nine games before the winter break that runs March 5-10.

According to ESPN stats, Davis leads the Lakers among eligible players with 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.8 blocks, and a player efficiency rating of 24.79. He trails only LeBron James (25.5 PPG) in scoring with 22.5 points per contest.

The Lakers possess a record of 21-7 and will play at the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday evening.
