LOS ANGELES — You know it, the Lakers know it, Anthony Davis knows it. At the end of this year, he could pack up his bags, say thanks for the purple and gold memories then jet.
Poof.
He probably won’t. But he could.
And that, friends, is a little thing called leverage. Davis has it in spades.
Whatever it takes to make him happy, the Lakers want to give him. The same considerations afforded to LeBron James? His. He could ask to be flown to every game on a giant swan with a golden saddle and reins of braided unicorn hair, and Rob Pelinka would find a way to make it happen.
And if there is one thing Davis has written in bold and circled on his list of demands it’s that he absolutely, positively does not want to play center.
Unless, it turns out, it’s the difference between winning and losing.
“If it makes sense, then obviously I don’t mind doing it,” Davis said on Friday after the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz…
