Make some room on the shelf. Annika Sorenstam has won yet again.
The 72-time LPGA winner and 10-time major champion made her U.S. Senior Women’s Open debut this week and won with ease. Sorenstam cruised to a eight-shot win at 12 under at Brooklawn Country Club, Fairfield, Connecticut, on Sunday after a final-round 4-under 68.
Walking up the 18th fairway with the win in the bag, Sorenstam shared a touching moment with her caddie and husband, Mike McGee, before her two children, Will and Ava, joined in.
The win earns Sorenstam an exemption into next year’s U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles, the site of her 1996 U.S. Women’s Open victory. Sorenstam also won the Women’s Open the year prior in 1995 and a decade later in 2006.

Liselotte Neumann, a source of inspiration for a young Sorenstam when Neumann became the first Swedish player to win the U.S. Women’s Open in 1988, finished second at 4 under, with Laura Davies, winner of the inaugural Senior Women’s Open in 2018, third at 3 under.
