Anirban Lahiri completed his second round with a card of even par 70 and stayed at five-under 135 at the Dean & Deluca Invitational at the Colonial.
The 28-year-old Indian, ranked 56th in the world, and winner of two European Titles last year, including his home Open, the Hero Indian Open, had played 12 holes of his second round on Friday before fading light stopped play on a weather-hit day.
Starting at one-under through 12 holes, Lahiri erred on the 16th when he went into the greenside bunker on the par-3 hole. He came out into the intermediate but missed a 15-footer for par and ended with a bogey. But with a 65 in first round and 70 in second, he was Tied-eighth but some players were yet to complete their round.
Lahiri, five-under and lying second after the first round, opened his second round on Friday night in style with a 24-foot eagle and a birdie in first two holes, but four bogeys and just one more birdie in next seven holes, saw him turn in even par before a birdie on 10th meant he was one-under and he had six more holes to play when shortened second day came to an end.
Webb Simpson was in lead at eight-under after rounds of 65-67, while Jordan Spieth 67-66 and first round leader, Bryce Molder (64-69) were tied second at seven-under. Patrick Reed was also at seven-under, but he had four more holes to play as did the local man, Ryan Palmer.
Seven players, three of whom had finished their rounds, including Lahiri, were at five-under in tied-sixth place. Spieth shot a 66 with four birdies in five holes after turning to the front nine.
