Andy Murray won't revive Serena Williams Wimbledon duo as Brit jokes about 'injury scare'

Andy Murray has suffered another injury scare before Wimbledon – he has lost his voice after cheering on Scotland at Wembley.

The proud Scot went with his brother Jamie and tweeted after the Euro 2020 stalemate: “Fair play to England, they worked hard, defended deep and deserved to hang onto the draw in the end.”

But the Olympic champion, who has undergone two hip operations, was still suffering today from the shouting – and from a bug in the Murray household.

“With the voice, I think it is a combination of the game the other night and the family sort of all had a bit of a throaty issue over the last few days as well,” he laughed.

Murray will not reform his dream team with Serena Williams at Wimbledon this year as both superstars focus on the singles.

“Singles is enough for me. Getting through singles matches has proved tough enough the last year or so.

“I’m not planning on the men’s doubles, no. So I’ll stick to singles this year.”
