And . . . Blast Off! The World's First Space Hotel Is Set to Open in 2027

It’s one small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind (or genderless kind, but we’ll touch upon that another day), because the world’s first space hotel is set to open in 2027! Yup, space hotels are no longer a thing of science fiction movies and books since you can now actually reserve a stay in one . . . and there are three hotels in the works as we speak. Orbital Assembly’s Voyager Station is the first to announce an opening date and is set to launch in 2027, so if you’re into space travel and are loaded rich, you can start planning your stay (it costs a casual $5 million to stay for three nights).

Orbital Assembly plans to begin construction of the Ferris wheel-shaped hotel in 2026, giving them a year to build and welcome guests in 2027. The Voyager Station will work by spinning to simulate gravity using centrifugal force and will allow guests low gravity activities in its gym, like basketball (imagine dunking without any effort?). And aside from being located in outer space, the hotel is like any regular high-end resort with restaurants, bars, gyms, and luxury villas that are available for purchase. The views of Earth are expected to be incredible, and the inside of the hotel looks something out of a Star Trek show, or if you grew up with Disney Channel, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century.

If you’re interested in staying in this out-of-this-world hotel, you can book your reservation here.
