Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is really excited about her new merch.
“Preorders are open now :)” the congresswoman tweeted to her 12.7 million followers Wednesday morning, unveiling her new “Tax the Rich” sweatshirts, going for $58 a pop.
“As always, made in the US with dignified, union jobs paying living wages,” she wrote.
The announcement from one of the Democratic Party’s most prominent democratic socialists was immediately met with derision due to the price of the clothing.

According to Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s website, all purchases are treated as campaign contributions. Supporters can also pick up a “Drink water & don’t be racist” T-shirt for $27 and an Abolish ICE baseball cap for $28 at her shop.
Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has floated the idea of a top marginal income tax rate as high as 70 percent.
