Alexandre Lacazette says agents are ‘looking’ at options with Arsenal striker’s contract to expire in summer

Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette has said that his agents are “looking” at options with the striker’s contract set to expire in the summer.

Lacazette, 30, has been at Arsenal since 2017, scoring 51 times in 135 appearances. However, the Frenchman has found his role slightly diminished since Mikel Arteta took over in December 2019, only starting four Premier League games this season.

He told French channel Telefoot: “Of course, my agents are starting to look to the right and to the left. But not until January, I really want to focus myself on something.

“And then we will see what is on offer, if the challenges are interesting, if there are beautiful projects, how they are counting on me.

“So there are still many questions, I prefer to wait until January to position myself.”

Arsenal are currently fifth in the table and closely chasing the Champions League places. Lacazette played 14 minutes off the bench in their 2-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
