After P.J. Tucker incident, Nets security guard tied to Kevin Durant suspended for rest of series

MILWAUKEE — The Nets’ security guard who shoved Bucks forward P.J. Tucker, while Tucker was nose to nose with Kevin Durant, will not be allowed to work any more games inside Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum and will not be permitted courtside in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the NBA said on Saturday.

The Nets security guard, Antjuan Lambert, 35, was hired by the team at the request of Durant, after working for Durant personally. It is common in the NBA for teams to hire the personal security of their stars — and has been for decades — but it is uncommon for those guards to make contact with an opposing team’s player. Lambert would have been suspended regardless of his relationship to any player — the fact that he is tied to Durant personally only made for poor optics.
