Adam Thielen is a force in the red zone: 10 things we learned from Vikings’ loss


The supposedly-easy part of the Vikings schedule began Sunday with a dud, a 31-28 loss in which they blew a four-point lead in the waning minutes. At one point, it seemed the focus today might be on one of Kirk Cousins’ best games or a revamped defense that did a decent job in the first half.

Instead, the Vikings sit at 4-6 as they prepare now to welcome back former quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers. Before that, let’s look at 10 things we learned from Sunday’s game.

1. The Vikings have no pass rush

Last week, co-defensive coordinator Andre Patterson stood before the defensive linemen that he coaches. He told the players in the room to raise their hand if they were a first-round pick. No hands went up. He told them to raise their hand if they were a second-round pick. None did. Same when he asked about third-round picks.
