ACC Kickoff: Who can stop D.J. Uiagalelei and Clemson, plenty of QB talk, Player of the Year picks and more

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — ACC Kickoff is back.

The conference’s annual event, which was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, returns to Charlotte this week and is bigger than ever. Instead of the usual two players per school accompanying their head coach, this year each program is bringing three. That includes new-kid-on-the-block D.J. Uiagalelei, Clemson’s sophomore quarterback.

To preview the event, The Athletic’s Andy Bitter, Matt Fortuna, Brendan Marks, Manny Navarro and Grace Raynor are here to talk about players to watch and the biggest stories around the league.

What is the biggest storyline of the week?

Bitter: It’s the same as it always is until someone knocks Clemson off its perch. Only this year, there might be a shred of hope. Trevor Lawrence is gone.
