A ‘more aggressive’ Anthony Davis helps Lakers clinch West’s top seed


For two days, Anthony Davis had no choice but to linger in what had been one of his most vexing performances as a Laker. In Saturday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors, Davis had attempted a mere seven shots, which tied his season low. That paltry tally was chalked up to making the right pass out of the Raptors’ timely double-teams, but still, for the Lakers’ leading scorer at 26.6 points per game, it wasn’t nearly an aggressive enough outing for Davis.

Regardless of the defense.

“I have to play better basketball than I did to help the team win and, you know, even though I was making the right plays, I still have to be aggressive,” Davis said. “I didn’t like the way I performed.”
