Babe Ruth, BOS/NYY — 29, 54, 59 and 60

Ruth’s transformation from pitcher to home run king began in 1918. By 1919, he set a new record with 29. By 1920, his 54 were more than most teams. In 1921, he pushed it to 59, and in 1927 he hit 60, a record that stood for decades.
