This is not the injury news the Los Angeles Lakers wanted as they prepare for the start of training camp.
Having dealt with a foot injury throughout the offseason, star forward Kyle Kuzma is now out at least through the middle of October.
This means Kuzma will more than likely miss all of training camp and the preseason with a stress reaction in his left foot.
The Lakers’ regular-season opener comes against the Clippers on Oct. 22. Given that the timeline has been pushed back, there’s a chance Kuzma could sit out the start of the regular season.
Kuzma, 24, averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field in his second season in he NBA in 2018-19.
