According to The Hockey News’ Ryan Kennedy, the Seattle Kraken will select Jordan Eberle from the New York Islanders during Wednesday’s expansion draft.
Eberle, left unprotected by the Islanders over the weekend, has three years left on a reasonable $5.5 million cap hit. Eberle hasn’t been able to break the 60-point barrier since leaving the Oilers, where he had a career-high 76 points as a sophomore, but he still is a valuable contributor that can hit 40-50 points in a full season.
Seattle will officially announce its roster on Wednesday night after 8:00 PM ET. The Kraken will select one player from each team, and some reports of player selections have already been made public.
